Author Biography
Kathleen Hellen Kathleen Hellen is a poet and the author of Umberto’s Night (Washington Writers Publishing House, 2012) and The Girl Who Loved Mothra (Finishing Line Press, 2010). Her work has appeared in Barrow Street, Cimarron Review, the Cortland Review, The Evansville Review, Harpur Palate, the Hollins Critic, Nimrod, Poetry Northwest, Prairie Schooner, The Seattle Review, Stand, and Witness, among others and was featured on WYPR’s “The Signal.” Awards include The Jean Feldman Poetry Prize from Washington Writer’s Publishing House (2012) as well as poetry prizes from the H.O.W. Journal (2011), the Washington Square Review (2007), the Thomas Merton Institute (2005), and the Appalachian Writers Association (1994 and 1996). |
